After anaerobic treatment, effluent flows into aerobic units like biological contact oxidation tanks or MBR modules to degrade residual soluble organics and complete nitrification and denitrification for nitrogen removal. For sites requiring strict discharge standards or water reuse, advanced treatment including coagulation, sedimentation and membrane filtration is added. Final clean water can be reused for cooling, site irrigation or cleaning, greatly reducing freshwater consumption and wastewater discharge fees. Sludge produced in the whole system can be dewatered and composted into organic fertilizer to realize circular utilization.
