I. Project Overview

This project is the poultry wastewater treatment project of Lingwu City Han-style Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. The company is located in Lingwu City, Ningxia, mainly engaged in pig farming, with 2,800 pigs currently in stock, and the daily discharge of poultry wastewater is 600 m³. The wastewater comes from pighouse rinsing, fecal mixture, and auxiliary cleaning during farming. Due to the poor quality of the original treatment facilities, the wastewater does not meet the standards. Therefore, Jinan Guangbo Environmental Protection was entrusted to provide a customized simplified treatment plan, requiring the effluent to comply with the "Pollutant Discharge Standards for Livestock and Poultry Industry" (GB 18596-2001), taking into account low-cost operation and resource utilization, and meeting the local requirements for environmental protection in livestock farming.

II. Wastewater Characteristics and Treatment Challenges

The core indicators of the company's poultry wastewater: COD 3500-7000 mg/L, ammonia nitrogen 400-700 mg/L, SS 1800-3500 mg/L. It contains a large amount of pig manure residue and feed debris, with high COD, high ammonia nitrogen, a large amount of suspended solids, easy to have a foul smell, and a fluctuating water quality. The core challenge is that the impurities are prone to clogging equipment and have high resistance to shock loads. It is necessary to achieve standard discharge quickly under the premise of low cost.

III. Core Treatment Plan

Jinan Guangbo Environmental Protection customized a simplified process: Poultry wastewater → mechanical grille → solid-liquid separator → regulating tank → UASB anaerobic reactor → aerobic biochemical pool → disinfection and discharge. Relying on its self-developed UASB reactor to efficiently degrade high-concentration organic matter, combined with solid-liquid separation to solve the problem of impurity clogging, the process is modularized and easy to operate and maintain, suitable for the production rhythm of the pig farm.

IV. Project Achievements

After the project was put into use, the effluent was stable and met the standards. The COD and ammonia nitrogen removal rates exceeded 96%, and the suspended solids removal rate reached 98%. It achieved the conversion of biogas residue and biogas liquid into fertilizers for surrounding farmland, saving 800,000 yuan in fecal disposal and fertilizer costs annually. It quickly solved the company's environmental problems and realized the coordinated development of pig farming and ecological environmental protection.
